Team History

2005
Another tough year for the Isle as we again only win one game. An exciting season though. The playoff picture was not clear until the final weekend, when every team had something to play for.

2004
A tough year for the Isle as we only manage to muster one win. Three close games were lost. We were better that our record might indicate.

2003
After a very exciting season, the Emerald Isle finishes 6-6, losing to Harding Cafe in the Community League Superbowl. Season Highlight: a hard fought overtime playoff victory vs. Gravison. Curtis Lemay filled in at quarterback and got the job done.

2002
A decent recruiting effort produced a good roster. But the team was not up to the new challenge of inter-league play. The City league teams were too tough. Although there were some close games with other well-matched opponents, the Isle finished with a 2-8 record, and just missed the play-offs. We looked good in our new jerseys.

2001
Team suffered from poor turnout and lacked depth. Team finished with a 3-8 overall record, losing in the first round of the play-offs. Season highlight: 21-3 victory over Gravison. Curtis Lemay stepped up and performed well at quarterback. Despite having only a 9 man squad that day the defense held and the whole team delivered.

2000
The Isle struggled this year to a 1-8 record as our sweep got shut down.

1999
The team joined the CMFFA in Worcester MA and started out 1-2. After eventually gaining sponsorship, the "West Boylston" name was dropped and the Emerald Isle was born. The combination of team speed and the sweep won us the next five games, and we finished the season at 6-3 overall. The season ended abruptly with a loss in the first round of the play-offs, victims of an untimely romantic getaway.

1998
Under the "West Boylston" name, Scott Atchue organized a flag football team with the help of friends and future brother-in-laws. The team drove to various towns in eastern MA and New Hampshire. A grueling iron man double header in Manchester NH lead to stitches and a player ejection. Players all agree that they should play closer to home the following year.
