Important League Rules

General Rules
Each team fields 9 players.

The field is 80 yards long.

First downs are gained by crossing one of the 20 yard lines, or midfield.

Games have two 25 minute halves. Both are running time until the game clock is under five minutes to go in the half.

All shirts must be tucked in, with flag belts on the outside. There must be at least 3 flags on each player's belt.

If a player with the ball has lost their flag before a defender has pulled it, they are down when an opposing player touches them.

All fumbles are dead upon contact with the ground.

Offense
The offensive team must have at least 5 players on the line of scrimmage. Of the players on the line of scrimmage, only the outside two are eligible receivers.

The ball carrier may not slap a defender's hand away, stiff arm them, or "flag guard" in any other way.

A player may not leave the ground when crossing the goal line.

After scoring a touchdown or two point conversion, a player may not touch his flag, and must allow an official to pull it off to see if it is working properly.

Spiking the ball after scoring is not allowed.

Defense
When lining up, 3 and 4 point stances are not allowed.

The defense must line up one yard away from the line of scrimmage, unless the line of scrimmage is within 5 yards of the goal. In that case they may line up on the ball.

When a flag is pulled, the defender should then raise it in the air.

Throwing opponents flags is not allowed.

Kicking
Two point conversions and extra point kicks may be attempted.

Teams must declare if they intend to punt or kick a field goal. Faking either kick is not allowed.

When a punt or field goal is being kicked, no rush is allowed. The only offensive players allowed to move after the snap are the kicker and the holder. During a punt play, neither the offensive nor defensive teams may move until after the ball is kicked. During a field goal attempt, the defensive team may move around and jump up to attempt to block the kick. However, they may not cross the line of scrimmage.
